FOOD & DRINK

The Key Times' FOOD & DRINK SECTION
Everybody needs food for nourishment but teachers need it more than most! Their food must sustain them through term-time and bolster them in non. An increasing number of teachers prepare delicious, healthy food at home but many succumb to fast-food convenience to fit in food before starting their evening's work. Although The Key Times' FOOD & DRINK SECTION will be a lighthearted escape for teachers with culinary inclinations, it also aims to decrease teachers' fast-food intake, by enticing your taste buds to try scrumptuous healthy alternatives - recipes, healthy tips, food reviews.

RICHARD'S KITCHEN
Fly on the wall, before it's dealt with, reports from a gourmet's cooking facility. What's Richard been cooking over the past few weeks and how's he been cooking it? What's in his cupboard drawers? Who has been to dinner? What's his cheese of the month? Where's he been to buy this and other luxury, organic produce which accounts for a goodly proportion of his expendable income? Where in the UK has he been dining out? Was it to his satisfaction?

THE ORGANIC TIMES
Product reviews based largely on Richard's Pantry. THE ORGANIC TIMES welcomes suggestions and home reviews, from teachers anywhere, of products Richard should sample (if he hasn't already done so).

Please Note: THE ORGANIC TIMES will feature only free-range and ethically produced foods.

TRAVEL

The Key Times' TRAVEL & LEISURE SECTION

The Key Times contends that teachers need to travel far more than members of other occupations - "we have insitutionalisation to escape!" said one. We'll enjoy receiving your reviews of places, resorts and facilities but have commissioned some for you to read in the meantime...

HEALTH

The Key Times' HEALTH SECTION

Launching in September 2007 on www.KeyStages.net, the Health Section of The Key Times was inspired by the specific needs of teachers. Diet, physical and mental health exercises, health news and health information will be provided in features and articles. THE HEALTH SECTION will keep teachers' health and wellbeing a central theme.

We want this section to be interesting, stimulating and fun and so The Key Times' HEALTH SECTION will not advocate arduous, thorough health regime lifechanges but it will suggest small improvements and report on them. We want you to enjoy trying some of our suggestions. In addition, HEALTH SECTION will arrange special offers and discounts for its readership.

ARTICLES COMING SOON
Please read the following excerpts from forthcoming articles in The Key Times' HEALTH SECTION

ENJOY REDUCING STRESS
. . . Have you ever been painted from neck to toe in warm, volcanic mud? If I could encourage my readers to do one thing it would be this. You lie down on a plastic sheet wearing nothing but paper knickers (bras are optional) and rotate slowly, slippily and with muddy ease so that the therapist can slosh a good layer over every inch with what looks like an emulsion brush. This is a mud infusion. When completely covered you’re wrapped in the plastic sheet and left to luxuriate for twenty Earth-minutes. I had this treatment at Ragdale Hall. It was truly one of the best experiences in my life and I felt marverllous afterwards.

HEART HEALTH
BBC News had three articles relating to the this topic on 7th July 2007. In the first people are reported to be unable to recognise symptoms of heart disease and a heart attack. The second reported findings that 140,000 fewer than expected incidents of heart failure have been reported, suggesting that these cases are being missed. The third covered US research which found that organic food was better for the heart than non-organic varieties.

This article will list the symptoms and provide an overview of preventative measures. It will sugest ways in which Flavanoids and other beneficial antioxidants can be increased in diets and will look at simple, enjoyable exercises to increase and maintain your heart's health.

NINE MIRACLE FOODS - WE TEST THEM!
Blueberries, Apricots, Tomatoes, Broccoli, Water, Green Tea, Avocados, Nuts, Red Wine.

As I write this the HEALTH SECTION's human guinea pig is preparing for ten days of eating and drinking nothing but these miracle foods. I’ve a feeling it is something you won’t want to trial yourselves, in term time at any rate. This frank report, written by the guinea pig herself, will pull no punches. Are there benefits to be had from a dramatic change in diet? How can we integrate more of these foods into our diets? Leave it to us to find out and read this article in the 1st edition of The Key Times on http://www.keystages.net/
